The protection of personal data is important to us. Personal data is processed on this website only to the extent necessary to provide the website, to communicate with users, or to prepare and carry out the Sensus Communis project.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, for example name, email address, IP address or the content of communications.

When you access this website, our hosting provider Netlify processes technically necessary data. This may include in particular:

This data is processed in order to provide the website technically, to ensure the security and stability of the service, and to be able to trace possible technical faults.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing the website securely, stably and in working order.

Fonts (web fonts): This website uses only fonts hosted locally on its own server. No connection to servers of third-party providers such as Google Fonts is established when the pages are accessed; in particular, no IP addresses are transmitted to Google.

If you contact us by email, we process the personal data you transmit, in particular your email address, your name if provided, and the content of your message.

The data is processed in order to handle your enquiry and to communicate with you.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where your enquiry is aimed at entering into or performing a contract or a project-related collaboration, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR may additionally apply.

5. Cookies, tracking and analytics tools

This website currently uses no tracking tools, no analytics tools and no marketing cookies.

On your first visit, a notice banner is displayed. Your confirmation is stored exclusively locally in your browser (localStorage, technically necessary, entry “sc-consent-v1”) and is not transmitted to us or to third parties; it only serves to avoid showing the notice again.

Should services such as web analytics, newsletter tools, embedded content or external media be used in the future, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.

6. Newsletter and registrations

On this website you can sign up via a form for news about Sensus Communis (email address), and you can express your interest in taking part via the Founding Member form (name, email address and voluntary information about your occupation, organisation, interests and a message).

The forms are processed via the form feature of our hosting provider Netlify. The data entered is received and stored there and delivered to us by email. No additional provider is used for sending the forms. Netlify processes the data on our behalf; for details on data processing, please refer to the provider’s privacy information.

The legal basis for signing up for news is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, for example by an informal message to the email address given in the legal notice. The legal basis for enquiries via the Founding Member form is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR (handling your enquiry about taking part).

7. Disclosure of data

Personal data is disclosed to third parties only where this is necessary to provide the website or to handle an enquiry, where there is a legal obligation, or where you have given your explicit consent.

Personal data is stored only for as long as is necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations.

Data from email enquiries is deleted as soon as the enquiry has been conclusively dealt with and there are no legal or organisational reasons for further storage.
